Dear Ministers and Council representatives,
I send you this email with the hope that you will take action to STOP the proposed aerial 1080 drop for Te Kuiti in June 2010. Bate stations are an options. This would lower the rural unemployment numbers, and make way for a healthy possum industry. There are too many short and long term ramifications of aerially bombarding our countryside with a poison that’s banned pretty much everywhere else in the world. The health of your children and your children’s children is in your hands.
Please reconsider, look for more ecological safe alternatives, and put an end to this indiscriminate and appalling method of eradicating possums and rodents.
Please follow Westland and Taupo District Councils who have banned the aerial use of 1080.
Please can you show me the science that advocates the use of 1080 in this way. Thank you for your consideration and response to my above question.
